2019 is coming to a close and the New Year will be here before you know it. Now is the perfect time to audit your website and marketing collateral to make sure it still is relevant to your business.
Before the clock strikes midnight on December 31, spend some time reviewing these important branding elements:
Your logo should be the very first thing you update, as it will appear on everything else. Take an honest look at it. Does it still fit your brand or the direction you have planned for your business? Even small adjustments can make it look more modern or attractive. Or maybe you are ready for a completely new look.
Print new business cards
First, review it to make sure everything is accurate—and to update your logo—but also consider ditching the traditional card for a more eye-catching one.
Unconventional shapes and colors, are trendy now, as are adding unique elements, such as headshots, quotes and testimonials.
Give your website a facelift
Obviously, if you have changed your logo, you need to update your website, but also spend some time going through it to make sure it still looks and functions properly.
Fix broken links, remove outdated or in accurate information, and update your products or services pages, at the least. However, if your website is unprofessional, hard to navigate or unattractive, build a brand new one. Your website is the face of your business; make sure it represents it accurately.
Evaluate your printed materials
Direct mail, brochures, display materials, postcards and other printed marketing collateral are costly to create, print and mail. Review each one carefully to ensure that it is accurate, still relevant to the business, and that it supports your goals for 2020.
Consider hiring a professional copywriter to punch them up a bit, but at the very least proof them carefully to remove any outdated information. You should also consider updating stock images and adding fresh visuals to keep them looking current.
Don’t spend another year with marketing materials and a website that don’t reflect what your business is all about. Take some time now to review your materials and create a plan to update or rebrand.
